Welcome to Chiang Mai, an ancient and modern city perfectly combining traditional Lanna culture with contemporary expressions.

Baan Chan Ruen, formerly known as Hug Chang House, has recently moved from its previous location near Chang Puak Gate in the Old City to a new and spacious place near Suan Dok Gate.

We offer both monthly and daily private rooms, and in the near future we are planning to renovate all the rooms in a minimalist style that meets our guests’ preferences.

Apart from the spacious area, our guesthouse also provides easy access to various Thai restaurants (cooked to order) with good taste and affordable prices. Most importantly, our location is only 10 -15 minutes away from many interesting places -- the Old City, Phra Singh Temple, MAYA Lifestyle Shopping Center, Nimman area, and local markets near Chiang Mai University as well as Saturday and Sunday Walking Streets, where our guests can enjoy exploring, shopping and eating - all these can be reached on foot or by motorcycle, songthaew, or local bus.
